my little brother

I just realized that I have never blogged about a VERY important person in my family. My little brother, Luke. Yesterday was his birthday and he would have been 30. I have a hard time imagining my little brother as a 30 year old man. This is a picture of him, playing his trumpet at our wedding. Every day I miss him. Every day I think about him. Every day I wish he was still here. The little boys often lament that they never "really got to know Uncle Luke", and that breaks my heart. We have shown them pictures of their uncle holding them as babies.....but that's all they ever will really have. When they were really little, they would often look up at the night sky and softly say, "Night night Uncle Luke". They do have in their room, the EXACT same little glowy star that Luke had hanging in his room (put there by his big sister) for many years. :)

We heard a really excellent trumpeter on Easter morning....I always like to close my eyes and pretend that I am listening to my brother play. But then, I open my eyes and am always disappointed...that it isn't him. Colin & Simon often pray to God that Luke is having a fun time up in heaven. I'm certain he is.....even as much as I wish he was still here on Earth.............

The Royal Wedding.....

So, I posted on facebook that I was excited for the upcoming wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton. Well, that post turned into a spontaneous Royal Wedding tea party, Friday morning after the kids have been dropped off at school. A few friends are coming over & I, as the hostess promised to make everyone "fascinators" to wear, while we watch. Now, I have never made a fascinator.....I have been quite fascinated with all of the gorgeous fascinators that Kate has been wearing lately!!! So, I dropped by the local craft store, picked up some supplies, most importantly.....a glue gun!! The following are some pics of my first AND finest wares, thus far.

They are all headband-style fascinators!
This is the last one that I made, and I bribed my children into modeling it for me.
Oh sometimes, it would be fun to have a girl in this house!!!

I think this green one is, by far, my favorite out of all of my creations. I think this is the one that I shall be wearing on my head while I sip my tea, with my pinkie in the air!

Easter 2011 - 3 brothers

Still sleepy boys.....awoke to find that the Easter bunny had left some treats for them!!

We did actually make it to the 8am service!

blogger is so BAD!!!

Well, I have been waiting for the magical day, that I am allowed to blog. I am hopeful that it will work.
It has SERIOUSLY been since the 24th of March, that I last posted.....all because blogger says i am out of room, or i do not have permission. It's all so aggravating!

At any rate, here is a really GREAT picture of the boys on our Spring Break trip to the other side of the state. Not only was it a wee bit warmer over there, but all of the spring trees were in bloom!!
